Singers type their own names on their phones, and a room that has been drinking will test that. The blocked names list is how you decide, once, what never appears on your screen.
The four match types
Exact blocks that name and nothing else. Starts with, ends with, and contains catch the variations people try when the exact one is refused.
Contains is the strong one and worth using carefully: a fragment that appears inside an innocent word blocks that word too. There is a tester on the page so you can try a name against your list before you trust it.
It works everywhere
The list is yours and it applies wherever a singer types a name, on the request page and at the rig. It syncs both ways, so a name you block at the laptop is blocked on the phones a moment later and the other way round.
On top of ours
FireballKaraoke already refuses the obvious: junk, the usual profanity, and the tricks people use to spell around a filter. Your list is the local layer, for the name that only matters in your room.
Someone already in the roster
Blocking a name that is already on your roster stops it being used again. It does not go back and rewrite the history that name has already built.
Devices
If one phone will not stop, that is not a name problem. Contact us at [email protected] and we can block the device itself.
