Singers search a copy of your karaoke library that lives on FireballKaraoke.com. Only what has been sent up is searchable, and only title, artist, and album travel: your file paths never leave your machine.
What gets sent
Karaoke tracks from the library VirtualDJ already knows about. A track that is not flagged as karaoke in VirtualDJ is not part of the karaoke catalogue, so it will not appear in a search even though it plays perfectly well on your rig.
If a track is missing for one singer but you can find it in the plugin, that flag is the first thing to check.
The first sync takes a while
A large library goes up in pieces rather than one enormous upload, because a single push of a hundred thousand tracks is the kind of thing that times out. A hundred thousand tracks is a few minutes of background work the first time. After that, only what changed travels, so it is fast.
Leave the plugin running and let it finish. Nothing is lost if you close VirtualDJ midway; it picks up where it stopped.
After you add music
Add discs the way you always do, let VirtualDJ index them, and the plugin sends the difference up. If new music is not showing up on phones, check that the rig is connected and give it a minute.
After changing servers
If you ever point the plugin at a different FireballKaraoke address, the sync starts over from scratch on purpose. A fresh pairing resets the counters so the new server cannot be left thinking it already has a library it has never seen.
Still missing
Search matches on the start of words in the title and artist. Long titles with punctuation are worth trying two ways. If a track really is in your catalogue and still will not come up, send us the exact title and artist at [email protected].
