Pairing is how the plugin and your FireballKaraoke.com account learn about each other. You do it once per rig, and it takes about a minute.
You need an active subscription or a free month running before you start. The approval page asks you to log in and sends you to sign up if there is nothing to approve with.
In the plugin
Open Settings and find the FireballKaraoke.com section. Tick Enable cloud sync, give the rig a name you will recognise later (Main rig, Backup laptop, and so on), check the cloud address, and save. Then click Connect.
The plugin shows an eight character pairing code, formatted like BCDF-GHJK, and opens your browser at the approval page. The status pill goes yellow: waiting for host approval.
On the website
The approval page shows the code, the rig name (you can change it here), and a plain list of what the rig will be allowed to do. Press Approve and connect.
The site confirms with a green Rig connected card, and back in the plugin the pill turns green with a connected message. That is the whole handshake.
The code expires
A pairing code is good for fifteen minutes. If you leave it sitting, the website says the code has expired and the plugin tells you to press Connect for a fresh one. Nothing is broken; ask for another code.
Pairing the same rig again
Pairing a rig you have already paired does not create a second one. The same machine keeps the same rig record and simply takes the new name. If you disconnect and reconnect later, it is still the same rig.
What happens the moment it connects
The rig pushes your karaoke catalogue up, pushes your singer roster up, pulls back anything the cloud knows about your singers, and pulls your blocked names list. A big catalogue goes up in chunks and can take a few minutes the first time. After that only changes travel.
Now you are ready to run your first cloud show.
