Cards expire, banks get suspicious, and it always seems to happen on a Friday. A failed payment does not stop your show that night.
What happens
The payment is declined and your account moves into a grace state. You keep working. We email you to say the payment did not go through and to ask you to update the card.
If it stays unpaid, a second email says the grace period is running out. That one is worth acting on, because after it the cloud pages start asking you to resubscribe and your rig stops opening cloud request pages. A show already running is never cut off partway.
Fixing it
Update your card on the billing page. Once a payment goes through, everything comes back on its own. There is nothing to reconnect and no rig to pair again.
We do not spam you about it
Each stage is emailed once per lapse, not once an hour. If a payment fails, gets fixed, and fails again months later, you hear about it again then.
The plugin keeps running
Whatever happens with a card, the plugin is free software running on your machine. Your rotation, your singers, and your audience screen are not waiting on a payment. Phone requests and the host remote are the cloud half, and those are what come back when the payment does.
If you think it is wrong
Write to [email protected]. Payments run through Square and we can see whether a charge was attempted and what came back, which is usually enough to tell whether the problem is the card or us.
